Back in The Dating Game????

I have been reflecting upon friends, new and old, lately......

I have come to the supreme realisation that making new friends is just like dating again....there is all the nervousness and trepidation that usually accompanies the first date, then the familiarity that comes with date 3 or 4......LOL!

I have decided that making new friends goes along pretty much the same path!

This move to New Zealand has been brilliant for pushing me out of my comfort zones and into the 'arms' of some really lovely women! It hasn't been easy for me to 'put myself out there', as I am a woman with an unusually high set of 'walls' in place to protect and serve me! (LOL)

I guess I've realised that after 6 months here, I'm still heavily reliant on the first group of girls that I've made friends with, and whilst they are FANTASTIC, I will be embarking on my next making-kiwi-friends-pilgrimage soon! So look out Kiwi women here I come!!

I think it's really hard not to be a total desperado when it comes to new friends....like I mean....who wants to be the 'needy' one or the one who is 'always' free??!! (LOL - I wear both hats right now!!)

Anywaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy...........changing the subject now...... :)

My week so far has been good, been to the indoor pool with Amelie, a good friend and her child. Have been doing loads of chores etc! The weather has been a little rough this week, colder and wetter....although I'm sure this is only the TIP of the winter iceberg.....just quietly - I'm scared!!

We are having a BBQ here this weekend for the mother's group women and their families and are really looking forward to it.

Not much else doing here - just counting down the days until our big WEST COAST ADVENTURE!!!
