Progress, progress, progess!

It's been a busy few days here in the land of the Kiwi!

We had the BBQ on the weekend and all went really well. It was lovely to have a house-full of friends and their children. I've decided that BBQ's and children are the MOST fun ever....the children have a blast because they are allowed to run wild and play silly games and the parents have a blast because the kiddies are amused....perfect combo really!

Also, I think we may have hit the jackpot with our new neighbours! This family moved in a couple of weeks ago and they have 2 kids around Amelie's age, and so far they have been just so lovely! (so the whole branching-out thing seems to be working!).

These neighbours are so damn social too, a couple of weeks ago she put an invite into all the neighbours mailboxes and this was to invite them to her house Sunday (yesterday) for a get-to-know-you-thing.....WHAT A GREAT IDEA!! This chick is brilliant, I am learning so much (LOL). I would never have thought to do that and then even if I did, I would have been thinking to myself the whole time..."I bet no one turns up".....

Well, how wrong could I have been!!?? All but one house on the street (the one For Sale by the way) turned up to this get-together!!! What a success!! I will be definitely stealing this idea next time we have to move! At this get-together we also finally 'met' the people who live across from us and they have kids Amelie's age too.....so it's looking like I FINALLY have some mother-socialising options that are local to me and NOT half an hour away, and it also means that I don't have to exhaust the poor mother's group women (who have been so kind to me, but I'm sure they have better things to do than put up with my constant socialising suggestions!!).

So...then we move onto today! I went to ANOTHER mum's house today (LOL). Met her in the park last week and decided to give her my phone number and guess what??? She rang me! (LOL) She and her kids also live around the corner and they are just lovely also!

So now....it's beginning to looks like my friend options have opened up quite a lot!!

Apart from my absolute fascination with making new friends, not much else has been happening. We finally go to the West Coast on Friday, so I am trying to get through all the boring chores so that we are organised for it.....

Anyway - I guess I better get going now....maybe I can give the lady who delivers our mial my phone number???? Hmmmmm - ok....I am JOKING now!!! (LOL)
