Glorious Sunday....

Well what a fabulous day it has been today.....the sun is shining AND warm and there is not a cloud in the sky. We have had a great weekend here, it has been great to have my husband not doing so much 'work' this weekend!

Yesterday we went to the Riccarton Farmers Markets, and this is held at Riccarton Bush and House. Riccarton House is somewhat of an icon here in Christchurch, being that it is a really old building and has had loads of memorable events held there. Quite a beautiful setting really for the organic produce etc that is on offer.

Today we took ourselves off to Christchurch Museum in the city and it was fantastic!! Very cheap (cost nothing!) and very child-friendly (it's funny how important that is these days!). I also found the 'Discovery' room, which is a hands-on area for children to learn about everything from Dinosaurs to Bees, so I will be suggesting this as a day out to my trusty mother's group!!!

Weekends always make me reflect on the difference in our life here (in Christchurch) as opposed to our weekend life in Australia.....and it is this difference that I relish!! For anyone not up with the program...my husband and I renovated our house EVERY weekend for 4 years, because we were too cheap to pay anyone to help us!! Sanding floors, nailing floorboards, pouring concrete, plastering walls, tiling floors, etc etc etc......blerghhhhhhh....

Ok time for me to head for my weekend walk I think! Amelie has decided that her and prams no longer mix well, so I now rely on my long weekend walks to help trim the waistline!!!!

Bye for now!
